They say that we have those little joys in life that bring us satisfaction.  People find that fulfilment by collecting things like; figurines, baseball cards, cars, etc.  For me, one of these joys come in the form a small notebook made by a French company named Moleskine.

For two centuries now Moleskine (mol-a-skeen'-a) has been the legendary notebook of artists, writers, intellectuals and travellers. From gifted artists Henri Matisse (1869–1954) and Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890), to poet and leader of the surrealist movement André Breton (1896-1966) to Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) considered the most influential writer of the last century, to famous travel writer Bruce Chatwin (1940-1989).

Moleskines feature a hard cover binding that contains thread bound acid-free paper pages.  A couple of really cool features are the ribbon place holder, elastic closer and expandable inner pocked which is a great place to stash pieces of paper or receipts.  The Pocket notebook is 3.5 x 5.5 and the Large notebook is 5 x 8.  Both sizes come in six different styles, which you can check out at http://www.moleskines.com.

I really enjoy these little books.  I use a large size while at work to record everything I do and everyone I talk to by phone.  I also use it to journal.  I use the Pocket Weekly Planner to organize myself.

One thing I do while watching TV or movies is looking for Moleskine notebooks.  I have seen them being used in "Lost", "Numbers" and various crime shows as well as movies including; "The Interrupter", "I Heart Huckabees", "Amelie", and "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade".  It's fun.

Buy one.  Write in one and see where your thoughts take you.
