My motivation to run is having some serious issues lately. Well, at
least the last couple of weeks. I find that at 5:30 a.m., I would
rather be in bed sleeping than out on the roads running, in the dark,
following a very small beam of light which is created by my head lamp.
This winter running, with it's dark, dreary and wet days, really suck.
The icy roads of late doesn't help much either.
In order to log
my miles I am running during my lunch hour a couple of days per week.
The darkness is gone, but the sky reminds me of a old black and white
movie where something awful happens to the main character - like being
eaten by an alien. I don't have to deal with much ice on the roads
during the day as I do in the morning, which is rather nice as I
dislike "sudden ground impact" situations.
I am still committed
to my running streak. I am still logging 50 miles or more a week,
though this week might be short. I want to reach both my 200th Day and
my 365th Day, this is important to me. To do so, I am reaching deep
inside of myself, find new sources of inner strength, just to get out
the door.
Happy Running
